‘Refreshed’ Pat Cummins Is Confident To Give His Best In T20 WC

Australian bowler, Pat Cummins has declared his desire to compete in the next 2021 T20 World Cup. He pushed aside the concerns regarding his form and stated that he is in great form coming into the main event. The quick did not play in the white ball series versus Bangladesh as well as the West Indies.

Cummins did not appear in the 2nd half of the IPL. In the warm-up match versus India, he gained command of the field. The fast bowler bowled his allotted overs, allowing 33 runs and going wicketless in the game. As a result, there were worries about his form and rhythm ahead of the mega event.

He also stated that his five-month absence from the sport allowed him to return tougher. The 28-year-old also stated that he is fully prepared to compete in both the major show and the Ashes series.

We might not get a heap of game time before the World Cup starts: Pat Cummins

“It was good to have a really good, solid five months of work. I feel really refreshed. I was absolutely chomping at the bit to get over here and play the Ashes after this as well. I was going flat out for the last month, knowing that we might not get a heap of game time before the World Cup starts. I feel really good, in a great place. It was great to go and play the practice game and I felt I got a lot out of that, so I’m ready to go,” Cummins said as quoted by Perth Now.

Australia’s latest T20I series has been disappointing. The team lost to both Bangladesh and the West Indies. Cummins, on the other hand, believes that the team possesses some of the finest players, and that everyone is eager to make an impression in the competition.

“Our results haven’t been where we would like them to be over the last little bit, but we haven’t really spoken about what anyone else has been saying about us. We’ve got some of the best players in the world, everyone’s fit and ready to go, the vibe’s outstanding and we’ve played a lot of cricket together. Within the camp, there’s a real confidence and we’re excited to get started,” Cummins added.
