In 2017, on the podcast, Moises Henriques said that when he checked on Google about the symptoms of depression, then he had every one of them. The Aussie international said he was going through a terrible phase and even lost 10kg in four weeks at that time.

“If you look at depression symptoms on Google, I’m feeling every single one of them, and very seriously. I lost ten kilos in four weeks. In four weeks, I went from 98 kg to 88 kg” Herricks told Neroli Meadows on the Ardineroli Speaking Podcast.

The 33-year-old recalled an example from the Sheffield Shield game that he won the toss and chose to bowl over Tasmania at the Bankstown Oval. According to Henriques, the bowlers will surely get some help off the track, but that hasn’t happened. The batting team declared their team on Day-2 after scoring a massive 450 on the scoreboard.

He claimed that his team bowled out for 90 in the 1st innings. Also, he was unable to score big in the match as he dismissed after just 20 runs in his innings. On his way back home at the end of Day-2, he was driving his car so fast that he wanted to go and push it into the pole. But the idea of the consequences stopped him from doing the same.

Later, he started crying in the car with tears from his cheeks. “I won the toss at the Bankstown Oval in the Shield Game against Tasmania, and we thought it was a green signal for a seamer. They were 2/290.  On the second day, they scored 450 and we were going to the end of the second day of 5/90. I dismissed at only 20-runs.

“I remember driving the M5 back home, doing 110km per hour, and I remember thinking to myself in the car. What is the consequence of what is happening? I can’t do that. It is not fair to my brothers, it is not appropriate to [my partner], and it is not fair to all these people who are there for me.

For the next two days, I could not leave my team with ten men. Also, I was crying very heavily and I was shaking. I had to pull over, just took five minutes, ”the cricketer said.
