Virat Kohli Century in BGT 2023
Virat Kohli Century in BGT 2023: Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli broke his streak of failing to score a century in Test matches by smashing his elusive 28th century in the format on Day 4 of the ongoing fourth Test match between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
It took Kohli 241 deliveries to reach triple figures after long wait of over 3 years. His last recorded test century came in a day-night test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 22, 2019.
India is in a commanding position in the game against Australia thanks to Kohli’s 75th international century.

India’s chances for WTC Final
India will try to win this game and the 3-1 series in order to qualify to the World Test Championship final. Otherwise, Sri Lanka will qualify for the WTC championship match against Australia even if they lose this game and Sri Lanka wins their current series against New Zealand by a score of 2-0. The World Team Championship final will be played between India and Australia at the Oval in June if India draws and Sri Lanka fails to completely destroy the Kiwis.
On Saturday, Kohli added another significant accomplishment to his resume as he became the fifth Indian batter to reach 4000 Test runs on Indian soil.
At the start of the day, India was on 289/3 when Todd Murphy (2/64) bowled out Ravindra Jadeja, and they lost their first wicket of the day (28).
After losing overnight batsman Ravindra Jadeja for 28, India earlier managed just 73 runs in 32 overs of the morning session. Kohli and Bharat then added 83 for the fifth wicket before Nathan Lyon dismissed KS Bharath for 44.
India held up well in their first innings response thanks to Shubman Gill’s brilliant century. At stumps on day, India had a score of 289-3 and was 191 runs behind Australia’s 480. With his 128 — the opener’s second Test century and first in India — Gill stood out while forging important alliances, including a 113-run second-wicket stand with Cheteshwar Pujara, who scored 42.
