However, the team was looking satisfied with the series win, they have shown the hunger to clean sweep the series against the West Indies women’s team. Let’s take a look at the highlights of the IN-W vs WI-W 3rd ODI.

Renuka Singh Named Player of the Series

West Indies Won the toss and opted to bat first, the West Indies aimed for a strong total but were quickly reduced to 3 wickets down within five overs. Henry’s sixty was a big effort for stacking up a solid target, but the strong partnership was dismissed in the coming overs, leaving the rest of the batting lineup to gradually collapse, leaving them with a respectable 162. India’s bowling responded strongly with Renuka Thakur, who dismantled the top order with 4/29. Deepti Sharma then took control, finishing with 6/31, including three maidens, and went on to become the first Indian woman to achieve three 5-wicket hauls in WODIs.

Deepti Sharma’s Heroics

An all-round performance from Deepti Sharma helped secure a dominant win for team India. With the ball, she took 6/31, including three maidens, as West Indies collapsed to 9/3. Her tight control and timely wickets put the visitors on the back foot.

After India faced a wobble at 73/4 and 129/5, Deepti’s solid 39 off 48 guided India through the tough phase. Early West Indies pressure saw Dottin and Alleyne dismiss Mandhana and Deol. Harmanpreet Kaur’s quick 32 and a 56-run partnership with Deepti brought India back on track and Richa Ghosh’s explosive 23* completed the win in just 28.2 overs.
