April 2, 2011: Ravi Shastri echoes in the background of the voice, and no Indian fan can forget the maximum beating of MS Dhoni – “Dhoni ends in style. India lifted the World Cup after 28 years”. Almost a decade later, the memories of the Indian Brigade lifting the coveted trophy still etched in the heart of every Indian fan.

Moreover, the value of winning the World Cup trophy has only increased after seeing ecstatic Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian leader always described winning the marquee event as the most significant and most emotional moment of his illustrious career.

Men in Blue won the 2011 World Cup by beating Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium. Post-match, all players, including Harbhajan Singh, cannot control their emotions after becoming world champions. Harbhajan Singh recalled the moment and how he first saw the enthusiastic Sachin Tendulkar dance.

“That day, I saw Sachin Tendulkar dancing for the first time. The first time he didn’t care about the people around him, and he was enjoying it with everyone, I will always remember that,” the off-spinner said on Star Sports’ Cricket Connect’ show.

“When I woke up that night, I remember sleeping with my medal. I had a medal on it, and it felt great,” Harbhajan said.

After winning the trophy, all the players got excited, and Harbhajan said that this was something the whole team had been dreaming of and this is the first time any cricketer has taken up a special moment and emotions for and the first time Harbhajan Singh shouted in front of everyone.

“It’s something we’ve dreamed about, it’s just coming up, and it’s just incredible. I still get those goosebumps when I think about those moments. The World Cup was an extraordinary thing, and I screamed in front of everyone. The feeling was overwhelming; I didn’t know how to react,” Harbhajan added.

On April 2, 2020, Tendulkar also recalled the incident, calling it the best moment of my cricketing life. He uploaded a video on Twitter where he revealed that Master Blaster couldn’t control his tears of joy at that time.
