Former Australia cricketer Shane Warne believes India & England are excellent competitors for the T20 World Cup in 2021. The Men in Blue began their tour on a high note, dominating both of their warm-up games comfortably. The British, on the other side, were defeated by New Zealand after losing to India in their first practice match.
On October 24, India will kick off their Super 12s campaign versus Pakistan. The Three Lions’ trip will start on October 23 against the West Indies, headed by Kieron Pollard. However Warne believes either India or England will win the title, he believes Aaron Finch’s Australia should not be underestimated.
He also stated that Pakistan and the West Indies squad are capable of delivering a number of surprises. It’s worth noting that the Windies are the defending champions, having won the event under Daren Sammy in 2016. He also stated that despite their poor record, David Warner and Eoin Morgan should not be pushed off.
Australia should not be underestimated: Shane Warne
Warne took to Twitter and wrote, “I think Eng & India have to go in as fav’s for the T/20 WC. NZ always perform well in events too. But I have a feeling the Aussies are being underestimated as they have a lot of match-winners in their squad. Then you have Pakistan & the Wi. Excited to see who will win.”

“Ps Whoever wants to write of @davidwarner31 & @Eoin16 re their lack of form. Remember class is permanent & form is temporary – don’t be surprised if one of these players will be player of the tournament #ICCT20WorldCup2021 ! Who will win followers?” Warne mentioned in his second tweet.
