T20 World Cup 2021: 5 Players Whose Form Is A Worry

The stage is all set in readiness for the T20 World Cup. Teams are fine-tuning their process ahead of the mega tournament. The form of a few big-ticket players heading into the World Cup is a bit itchy. Their poor run of form doesn’t augur well in the tournament’s long run. These high-impact players will be looking to get back to their imperial best once the tournament starts. Teams will be concerned about their star players not having the best of the times lately. Here are 5 Players Whose Form Is A Worry

We look at 5 Players Whose Form Is A Worry:

#5 Shadab Khan

Shadab Khan is one of the most talented cricketers in the international circuit currently. He is a feisty cricketer. Khan contributes with both the bat and the ball. He is an electric fielder too. But lately, Khan has struggled on both counts. His current numbers aren’t as impressive as his overall career stats. Pakistan need him to fire big as his presence lends solidity to their team.

#4 Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson had to contend with many energy-sapping losses in the IPL while captaining SRH. The pressure of captaining a downcast side showed on Williamson’s batting too. His numbers were far from ideal in the recently concluded IPL. To run salt into his wounds, Williamson seems to have damaged his elbow. His form and fitness is a big concern for the black caps heading into the tournament.

#3 Eoin Morgan

England are on the cusp of something big heading into this World Cup. They have the chance to become the first team to hold both the World Cups (50-overs and 20-overs). The ODI champions will be without their star players, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. But what will worry England most is the form of their talismanic captain, Eoin Morgan. Morgan has been in bad form of late. He has struggled to put bat to ball. His captaincy skills are helping him keep his place in the side. But England need more from him than just tactical brilliance.

#2 Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya could do no wrong this time last year. He was in devastating form in IPL 2020. Pandya hit sixes for fun in the last IPL. He carried his good form in the limited-overs tour to Australia too. Pandya was adjudged the ‘Player of the Series’ in the T20 series. But since then, Pandya has had a lean run of form. He could not hit his straps in the IPL. Pandya kept struggling for timing right throughout his stay in the middle. His reluctance to bowl has not helped matters. India will be wary of playing Pandya as just a pure batsman. His form is a big concern for India.

#1 David Warner

SRH dumping David Warner has jolted his confidence severely. Warner couldn’t buy a run in the matches that he has played in the UAE. He failed to score in the warmup games too. Australia’s batting revolves around him and Aaron Finch. But the chances of them maximising the powerplay look bleak at this moment owing to Warner’s bad run of form. Both him and Australia will be expectant that the T20 World Cup changes his fortunes for the better.
