CSK vs RR Highlights

Simarjeet Singh’s economical yet wicket taking spell with the ball and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s captaincy knock with the bat helped Chennai Super Kings to beat Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets.

Singh was truly magical with the ball at Chepauk against RR, as they dismissed their top-3 batters that broke their confidence to score a big total.

Chasing a target of 142 on a slow wicket, Ruturaj Gaikwad stood tall above all odds and his unbeaten 42 hand CSK 2 crucial points to reach third spot on points table.

CSK vs RR Highlights

Opted to bat, Rajasthan Royals started their campaign on an extremely decent note and only managed to add 42 runs during the powerplay.

The pressure was clearly seen on the openers’ faces, and they threw their wickets in that pressure.

Yashasvi Jaiswal became the first one to go back to the pavilion for 24, followed by Buttler for 21.

Skipper Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag though added 42 for the third wicket but took 27 balls, and at the time of escalating, Samson got caught.

Dhruv Jurel did try his best to score runs quickly and went back after an 18-ball 28. It was Parag, who remained not out and played a knock of 35-ball 47 to guide the Royals to 141 in 20 overs.

Simarjeet Singh was the pick of the bowler for CSK, as he grabbed 3 wickets while giving 26 in his 4 overs.

Chennai Super Kings to chase 142 in 20 overs

CSK, in reply, started off well, with 32 for none in 3.1 overs, but Rachin’s wicket on the next ball, gave Rajasthan some hope to bounce back.

Mitchell, however, was looking in good touch before Chahal spoiled his party for 22.

Rajasthan’s bowlers bowled tight lines and did not allow batters to open their arms much.

Moeen Ali (10), Shivam Dube (18), and Ravindra Jadeja (5), also failed to support their skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad.

But Gaikwad (41-ball 42*) played a sensible captaincy knock to drive his side home to grab 2 important points for CSK.

Chennai with this win, reached 14 points and moved ahead of Sunrisers Hyderabad to third spot on the points table due to better run-rate from SRH.
