Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina was reportedly arrested in a Mumbai Club for ignoring the state’s Coronavirus protocol. Suresh Raina, amongst 34 others, was taken into custody by Mumbai police for breaking the COVID-19 norms in a local city club. As per reports, celebrities like Guru Randhawa and Suzanne Khan were also present with Suresh Raina in the Dragonfly club at JW Marriott hotel in Andheri. However, Suresh Raina was later released on bail.

Suresh Raina was taken into custody by Mumbai police
Mumbai Police later issued an official statement stating “offense has been registered u/s 188, 269, 34 IPC and u/s 51 NDMA against 34 persons at Sahar police station after the raid was conducted at 2.50 AM at Dragonfly pub, for keeping establishment open beyond the permissible time limit, not following Covid norms such as social distancing, not wearing a face mask.”
Maharastra government has recently imposed new Coronavirus norms for the state which will go on till January 5. A night curfew has been implied from 11 PM to 6 AM. All the flights coming from the UK has been cancelled until December 31 following the new mutant strain of the coronavirus that has recently gone viral.

Raina set to make a comeback
34-year-old Suresh Raina, who recently called it a quits from international cricket, is all set to feature for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. Mr. IPL, Suresh Raina missed the latest season of the Indian Premier League which was scheduled in UAE. As per reports, Suresh Raina shared difference of opinion with the Chennai Super Kings’ management and had to leave the squad even before the commencement of the tournament. However, the southpaw has confirmed that he will play in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
