Lucknow Super Giants Strengths and Weaknesses

One of the two new IPL teams for this edition is Lucknow Super Giants – They were successful in grabbing KL Rahul before the IPL Mega Auctions 2022 and they have officially announced him as the skipper of their squad for this edition. They look really good on paper and let’s look at the Lucknow Super Giants squad’s strengths and weaknesses.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Full Squad:

KL Rahul (c), Marcus Stoinis, Ravi Bishnoi, Quinton de Kock, Manish Pandey, Jason Holder, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Mark Wood, Avesh Khan, Ankit Rajpoot, K Gowtham, Dushmanta Chameera, Shahbaz Nadeem, Manan Vohra, Mohsin Khan, Ayush Badoni, Kyle Mayers, Karan Sharma, Evin Lewis, Mayank Yadav

KL Rahul is a good player but he has to prove a lot as a captain – He will look to start this edition on a positive note and will definitely workaround with the new bunch.

They really have a good squad on paper and this young bunch has to face a lot of challenges as the tournament progresses. The spin department is something concerning for them because they don’t have a strong face in this department whom they can rely on.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Predicted 11 :

KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, K Gowtham, Avesh Khan, Mark Wood.

Lucknow Super Giants Strengths and Weaknesses:

Strengths:

  • Lucknow has too many all-rounders in the squad and this will be a big boost for them. All-Rounders play a very important role in T20 games and they can really win games for any side. Looking at their all-around strength in form of Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda, and Jason Holder can really help the side for being consistent.
  • They really have an excellent opening pair in the form of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock – Opening numbers are very important for any T20 side because they are the main key players to give a good start to their batting innings. And at this particular segment, they have a promising pair.

Weakness:

  • Lack of experience on the side – No doubt they have some good all-rounder in the middle but they lack experience. A player with a good amount of experience can win you some crucial league games and this is no secret. Lack of experience in the middle order might cost them very badly as the tournament progresses.
  • This is a very big concerning factor for the side – They are no major players to depend on in the spin bowling department. Especially on Indian tracks, spinners play a prominent role – Probably they have to produce one young talent in this department.

Lucknow Super Giants will look to start their maiden season on a positive note and if every player can play to their true potential then they can surely be the star side.
