Players of the Delhi Capitals are again forced into isolation after a net bowler of the squad tested positive for the Covid-19 and the BCCI is not happy with this second Covid-19 outbreak in the DC camp

As the players are embracing reaching the playoffs, the teams are expected to make preparations on launching strategies for the qualifying, eliminating, and final matches which are slated between May 24 to May 29.

The first Qualifier and the Eliminator game will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 24 and 26, respectively.

Whereas, the second Qualifier will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 27 and the final on May 29 at the same venue. Viewers can witness the final four games in the stadium as BCCI also allowed full capacity.

So, BCCI is in no mood to spoil the fun of viewers and wants to conduct all remaining matches in a healthy and cheerful environment. The reason behind them now the board wants to probe

“It’s baffling. Right now, it is difficult to say how did this happen again, whether from hotel staff or from franchise officials or the players,” a baffled BCCI official told Insidesport on Sunday.

This is the second time in the IPL 2022 when DC players are restricted to their rooms due to forced isolation. Earlier six members including their main all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and wicket-keeper batter Tim Seifert had tested positive for Corona.

BCCI then took the decision of a last-minute change of the venue for the Delhi Capitals’ clash against Punjab Kings from MCA Stadium in Pune to the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

But this time BCCI is not happy with the Covid outbreak in Delhi Capitals’ camp considering the last stage of group matches and the playoffs and final schedule. They have decided to investigate the matter in order to find out the actual reason behind how can a team face two Covid outbreaks in a month while following the bio-secure bubble.

Delhi Capitals are staying at the Taj hotel in Colaba, Mumbai. There were four hotel staffers have tested positive in the last month.

The team Delhi Capitals is currently in the fifth spot with 5 wins and 6 losses in 11 matches and they need to win all their remaining matches to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs.
