IND vs ENG 4th Test

India produced an impressive comeback in the fourth test, as Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav rocked England’s batting line-up with unplayable deliveries, bundling them out for 145 in the second innings in Ranchi.

Earlier in the day, Dhruv Jurel stole the show with his 90 to push India to 307, while Ashwin’s fifer Kuldeep’s four-wicket haul helped India not only stay but also given the opportunity to win the test and take a 3-1 series lead.

IND vs ENG 4th Test Day 3 Update: India need 192 to win Ranchi Test

Opting to bat, England scored 353 in their first innings after Joe Root played his typical cricket rather than Bazball style.

Root scored his 31st test century in difficult batting circumstances to put his team in command, and the tourists produced 353 in the first innings.

India’s reply got off to a shaky start, with skipper Rohit Sharma (2) walking off early, and the batters showing little intent to stay on the crease. Jaiswal’s 73 was India’s only salvation on day two, as the team ended the day 2 at 219 for 7.

With England looking in complete control, Dhruv Jurel, who is playing his second test, came out of syllabus for them and scored 90 runs to lift the home team to 307 and cut the lead to 46.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav rock England in second innings

Captain Rohit Sharma made the courageous decision to start the innings with spinners rather than pacers, and it paid off as veteran Ashwin dismissed two batters in the first five overs of the game, forcing the English side on the back foot.

Zak Crawley, on the other hand, attempted to his side, but Kuldeep Yadav halted his efforts and bowled him when he was at 60.

Ashwin and Kuldeep combined took 9 wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja joined the party late but still managed to grab a wicket
