Will Imad Wasim play in T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan the runners-up of the last edition of ICC T20 World Cup, is preparing to break their ICC T20 title drought by applying a rotation policy in the ongoing New Zealand series.
Pakistan has last won the T20 world cup in 2009, and since then they failing to secure another title.
They made intense effort in the 2022 edition of the marquee event and reached the finale but failed to win.

To make their team stronger, the selection panel added experienced Imad Wasim’s name in the ongoing series squad to balance the team ahead of the T20 World Cup squad announcement.
Imad Wasim, who took the retirement from international cricket last year, has made himself available for selection specially for the T20 World Cup 2024, which begins on June 2.

The all-rounder has contributed significantly to Islamabad United’s success in the 2024 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
He took 12 wickets in 12 games and had a decent outing with the bat.
With form on his side, the 35-year-old is confident to do well in the challenging conditions of West Indies and USA.
Wasim has played 66 T20I for Pakistan and has scored 486 runs at an average of 15.18 and a strike rate of 131.70. While he has grabbed 65 wickets at an economy of 6.26.

However, Imad was not the part of Pakistan’s 2022 T20 World Cup team and was left out from the 2023 ODI World Cup squad and he took the retirement after that.
But his inclusion in the ongoing series against New Zealand indicates that he has a chance to represent his country once again on the bigger stage.
Pakistan is set to play a 3-match T20I series next month against Ireland and will go to England for the 4-match T20I series before travelling to USA for the marquee event.
There will be as many as 20 teams to take part in the upcoming T20 World Cup divided into 4 groups of 5 each. Pakistan is a member of group A, while also includes India, USA, Canada and Ireland.
Pakistan will play their first game against USA on June 6.
