Australia Best Playing 11 for T20 WC

Australia will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 against Oman in Barbados. They will play all their group-stage matches in the West Indies. Following their opener, they face England on June 8, Namibia on June 11, and Scotland on June 15, all in Barbados.

Australia secured the T20 World Cup title in 2021, completing their collection of ICC trophies after winning the World Test Championship final against India in 2023. The 2024 T20 World Cup marks the end of an era for David Warner, who will retire from international cricket after the tournament.

This time Mitchell Marsh will lead Australia in the 2024 T20 World Cup, showcasing the team’s strategic approach to leadership by entrusting different members with responsibilities. Marsh, who returned from the IPL to recover from a hamstring injury, aims to be fully fit for the World Cup.

Notably, Steve Smith, a squad member in previous T20 and ODI World Cups, has been left out of the 2024 T20 squad.

Aaron Finch, who captained Australia to World Cup victories in 2021 and 2022, has passed the leadership to Marsh. Despite Marsh’s relative inexperience as an international captain, Australia’s retention of their core squad members positions him well for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024
