Players Who Deserve A Chance Post T20 WC
The selection queue for the Indian team keeps getting longer. India arguably has the widest talent pool across formats. The evolution of IPL, domestic cricket, and list-A cricket has widened the cricketing depth.
There are so many deserving players who have to wait for an eternity to get a place in the national team. Owing to the pandemic and non-stop cricket, few cricketers did get a chance. But only a few could get a long run. There is a possibility that few deserving players will get a chance post the T20 World Cup 2022.
We look at a few such Players Who Deserve A Chance Post T20 WC:
#4 Rajat Patidar
His career has seen a solid upturn right since he walked in as a replacement for RCB in IPL 2022. Rajat Patidar became the first uncapped Indian player to score a century in the IPL knockouts. He has gone from strength to strength ever since. Patidar played a crucial role in Madhya Pradesh’s Ranji Trophy win. He carried on his good form against New Zealand A during the India-A series. Patidar has everything going for him to nail down the number 3 spot.
#3 Umran Malik
He looked all set to win the fastest delivery of the tournament right until the final game. Umran Malik was sensational in the IPL. His bowling made people watch games. He bought the old-school method of bowling fiery and bowling fast. Malik did get a chance to play against Ireland wherein he defended a par score off the final over. But opportunities have deserted Malik. India needs an outright fast bowler in its ranks. He is the best bet currently.
#2 Rahul Tripathi
He is one cricketer who smilingly piles up runs across formats. Rahul Tripathi drew attention in IPL 2017 when he put up a sparkling show scoring almost 400 runs. His move to KKR fetched him consistent returns with his focus primarily being scoring important runs for the team. SRH bought him in the IPL mega auction in 2022 for a whopping INR 8.5 crores.
The price tag did raise plenty of eyebrows but Tripathi delivered big time in orange colours. He has been travelling with the Indian team post the IPL but is yet to get an opportunity to play for the country. It’s time he gets a chance to shine in national colours.
#1 Mohsin Khan
He was one of the finds of IPL 2022. Mohsin Khan was the leading pacer of Lucknow featuring international quality bowlers. He troubled batsmen of all ilk. Khan bowled brilliantly across all phases of the innings.
His disconcerting bounce and swing had the best of batsmen in trouble. Khan showed great prowess with the bat too striking crucial blows at death. He will be a great asset to the side searching for a quality lower-order bowling all-rounder.
