New Replacement for Josh Inglis

Josh Inglis is swapped by all-arounder Cameron Green in the Australia team for the Twenty20 World Cup on Thursday after the wicketkeeper-batsman was forced to withdraw due to a cut to his right hand from a golfing accident.

Cause of Injury

When playing morning golf with some of his colleagues and coach Andrew McDonald at the New South Wales Golf Club on Wednesday, Inglis, who often serves as Matthew Wade’s backup, suffered a broken club in his hand.

Australia coach Andrew McDonald described the incident as “an absolutely odd accident” on Thursday. The shaft of the weapon “snapped around the grip region as he made contact with the ground and cut into the palm of his right hand.”

Although there was no tendon damage, according to McDonald. Inglis had stitches put into his hand, making it difficult for him to grip the bat and consistently catch the ball.

A new addition to the Australian team

All-rounder Green, who didn’t make the initial selection. Now he has a new opportunity as a result of the injury to wicketkeeper-batsman Inglis. The 23-year-old opener in the T20I series against India last month smashed two fifties.
