ICC Media Right News: The Mock auction was originally scheduled for August 12 to 16 but there is no hint of the auction being moved to 16 or 17 August. The issue is bowling for almost 2 months now and all the broadcasters have had a tough 2 months with the management of ICC where the top four Indian Broadcasters have not participated in the mock auction. Here in this article, we talk about ICC Media Right News where Indian broadcasters boycott them.

Concerns have been raised among the ICC board members regarding the media rights from India where top guns like Star Sports, Sony pictures network, ZEE, and Viacom18 have not shown interest in participating in the mock auctions.

A very important person from the ICC panel has been quoted saying “This is shocking and surprising. The way some of the potential bidders have perceived the tender is not correct. ICC is a global governing body of the sport. To cast aspersion on our intent is incorrect. We have given all clarifications on the tender document, so why an issue.”

ICC released the 2024-31 cycle tender for the Indian media agencies on June 20th. The tender is being organized for four years and eight years as well. The agencies can place a bid for four years and have the option of further extending for eight years. Bids can be placed for both television rights and digital rights separately or combined also. The ICC gave a deadline for the submission of the bid on the 22nd of August, where the bids will be opened on August 26 in Dubai, and the winner of the bid will be released in September.

All the agencies were absent at the mock auction because the clarifications provided by the ICC were not satisfying the needs of the broadcasters and also disagreed with the Hybrid system process for the bidding of rights.
