NZ vs SA Highlights

South Africa maintained their dominance in the World Cup after defeating New Zealand by a huge margin of 190 runs in Pune on Wednesday.

The Kiwis batters failed to handle the pressure of chasing 357 and bundled out on 167. Keshav Mahraj starred with the ball for South Africa with 4 wickets.

Earlier, Quinton de Kock’s fourth century in this World Cup and Van Der Dussen’s knock of 133 guided the Proteas to a big total of 356.

Invited to bat, The Proteas lost their first wicket early, but what happened next was not expected by the Blackcaps.

Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen added 200 runs for the second wicket before de Kock walked back for 111.

This was de Kock’s fourth century in this World Cup, and he is the highest run-scorer as well.

Dussen (133 off 118) remained calm on the field, and he received a good response from his partner David Miller (53 off 30), and as a result South were able to post 356 for 4 on board.

NZ vs SA Highlights: New Zealand to chase 357 in 50 overs

Chasing a large mark of 357, New Zealand were befuddled by the pressure and went on to lose wicket after the other.

The Kiwis lost half of their team at 90 runs with 267 runs still required to win. Glenn Philips showed some battling spirit with a knock of 60, but it wasn’t enough to give New Zealand the win.

Keshav Maharaj was the pick of the bowler for South Africa with 4 wickets, while Jensen took 3, Coetzee two, and Rabada also managed to take a single wicket in the process.

With this win, South Africa again topped the chart due to better net run-rate than India (12 points), while New Zealand with 8 points in seven games, slipped to fourth spot.
