The ball came faster than I expected- Yashasvi Jaiswal:
The final match of the ICC U19 World Cup between India and Bangladesh held in Potchefstroom. In that match, India’s opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal accepted that he was playing a “bad shot”.
Jaiswal was the highest scorer in the final match. He scored 88 runs in 121 balls including eight fours and one six. India scored 177 in 47.2 overs in that match.
After losing the World Cup, Jaiswal gave an interview. In that interview, Jaiswal said “The ball came faster than I expected, anyway I played a bad shot. At that time it wasn’t needed. Just before that, I had got a slower ball”.
Jaiswal also revealed that before the final match, he got a call from veteran batsman Wasim Jaffer. Being the residents of Mumbai, previously also they had conversations and Jaffer gave many suggestions to Jaiswal as a senior batsman.
Jaiswal also added that before the final match he was quite nervous and Jaffer told him that he is paying very well. Just he needs to take time in the middle. But this didn’t go as expected. Nothing has changed for him. Sadly Jaiswal said that it would have been fantastic if they had won the match but it is not the end of the world.

Some of the other reporters along with The Indian Express reported that Jaiswal’s Man of the Match trophy has been broken into two pieces. While the reason was asked to the coach, he also confirmed the same but denied to give any reason.
Jaiswal’s childhood coach Jwala Singh said “this is not the first time. He concentrates on runs not trophies”.
A source of the vicinity of Yashasvi Jaiswal noted that “In another development, Jaiswal’s trophy issue has now been solved. ” The trophy was damaged during travel, but we have fixed it now. These types of things happen in traveling.”
In the six matches that he played in the tournament, the southpaw scored 400 runs at an average of 133.33 and a strike rate of 82.47 including one 100, and four 50s.
