Australian players, including David Warner and Pat Cummins, finally reached Syndey on 17th May 2021. They have been in the Maldives for few weeks because of the travel ban imposed by the Australian government.”We are Really Grateful To The BCCI” -CA CEO Nick Hockley .The Australian Contingent which includes all the players, coaching staff, officials, commentators who are associated with IPL have finally landed on their home soil after 10 days of spending in the Maldives.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said – Were delighted We’re really grateful to the BCCI for getting them home quickly and safely. I haven’t spoken to them since they’ve landed, but obviously, we’ve been in text exchange and I’m sure they’ll be very relieved and very appreciative to be home,”.
IPL 2021 has been suspended on May 4 due to rising Covid-19 cases in India and in fact, there were few players who have been tested positive for this deadly virus. After this incident entire Austria contingent had travelled to the Maldives for their safe stay.

Mr. Hockley even said: “Our hearts go out to everyone in India. Clearly, I mean, I think the IPL, you know, put so much work, so much effort into putting on the tournament. They obviously did that on the best available information at the time and they’ve come to the decision over the last 24 hours that it’s in everyone’s – well, in the interests of the health and safety of everyone to suspend the tournament indefinitely.
He even Added – ” IPL management has done a fantastic job so far in keeping our players safe and taking good care of them at the Maldives – I thank them for this sweet gesture
