Watch: Dhawan Reacts On India’s Problem Of Plenty

In recent times the Indian cricket team has been on fire, at home blowing away one team after another, firing on all cylinders the top order has been led by Rohit Sharma in the middle-order with skipper Virat Kohli is as consistent as ever.

Nonetheless, the positive results of India we can see clearly as the batsmen brilliant performance is in the picture. But, within these things, the excellent performances of batsmen are creating a kind of selection headache the team management and the captain.

Soon in October of this year as the T20 World Cup is scheduled to happen the Indian team is worrying for the finalizing of their playing XI squad. And Probably the team management will declare it soon. It seems easier to say than done as the problem of plenty is with two opening slots throwing up.

After a 2-0 T20I series win of India over Sri Lanka when it was asked about opening conundrum of India, Shikar Dhawan told: “On their own, every three players are performing well. 2019 was fine for Rohit, in the same way in the last two-three months Rahul has also performed well as he is a super player. And now in the picture even I am also there. Today in the 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka (Friday) I also performed well.”

“In my opinion, it’s not my headache. So, regarding this, I am not thinking more because nothing is in my hands. I am feeling glad on me because in the given two opportunities I performed well,” Dhawan added.

As into one of the two openings position vice-captain Rohit Sharma Walk-ins, this is in little debate. This is possible in limited-overs maybe it ODIs or T20Is. Anyone can see that there is a straight-up fight between KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan for the second spot.

In the Sri Lanka series, Shikhar Dhawan returned to the T20I fold after a layoff injury running with scores of 32 and 52 he hit the ground in the second and third T20I. While in this series Rahul was the top run-getter in two matches by scoring a total of 99 runs with a strike rate of 145.39 and at an average if 49.50.

As Rahul averages 44.17 in T20I in comparison to Dhawan whose just 28.35 is the average the Favour is going towards Rahul.

Thanking the recent form of KL Rahul that he may have just stolen a march on Dhawan as an opening slot for the open but there is more remaining time for the T20 World Cup, in the team XI for him he has more than enough time to consolidate his place.
