Team Indian returned as undisputed heroes from their recently conducted tour of Australia. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side achieved something which no other team could think of in the past 32 years. The ‘Men in Blue’ dismantled the Australians in their so-called fortress, Gabba. Adding to that, they won the “Border Gavaskar” Test series for the second time in a row. What makes the win more historic is the way the Indians fought with the minimal team options they had.
IND vs AUS: Ajinkya Rahane Receives A Hero’s Welcome
The internet went berserk as the whole of the cricket faculty joined hands to congratulate the Indians, including some of the Pakistani legendary cricketer as well. Indian players received the welcome they deserved when they landed on their home soil. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane was handed a grand welcome in his residence at Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Rahane led his side brilliantly in the absence of Virat Kohli.
Ajinkya Rahane entered on a red-carpet towards his building as Mumbai’s famous lezims were being played in the background. Rahane held his daughter in his hands while walking the red carpet. A kangaroo-shaped cake was presented before the skipper as a celebration of their grand win against the Baggy Greens. However, Rahane refused to cut the cake to avoid hurting anyone’s sentiments. Fans can be seen showering flowers on the 32-year-old in the following video.

The Indians picked themselves with quite a grace after a humiliating loss at Adelaide in the first Test. Ajinkya Rahane inspired his side in Melbourne to go on par with the Australians with a win in the second Test. Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, and Ravichandran Ashwin stood their ground to draw the third Test at Sydney. And the heroics of Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rishabh Pant got home the Brisbane Test for the Indians. The aforementioned series will go down as one of the most memorable Test wins by an Indian side in the history of cricket.
