Virat Kohli 1 Run Away From Massive T20I World Record

Virat Kohli, the regular captain of India is about to break a historic T20I world record as ‘Men in Blue’ takes Sri Lanka on Sunday in the 1st T20I in Guwahati.

To overtake fellow teammate Rohit Sharma and become the top run-scorer in the shortest format, the right-handed batsman needs just one more run. Currently, on the top spot, Kohli is tied to Rohit with the two players running 2,633.

Rohit, who is not taking part against Sri Lanka in the T20I series, will be not visible as he has taken part and is resting, which means Kohli will easily pick him and make the distance to fix his top-of – the-list spot.

During last month Kohli was outstanding in the T20I series against West Indies. In the first T20I, he made 94 runs in 50 balls to get his side chase down the total 208 mammoths.

He has completed an unbeaten 70 in 29 balls in the 3rd T20I and brought India in a better position by making 240/3 total in 20 overs, thus helping from his side to pick up an easy win.

Kohli Will Continue His Form Against Sri Lanka

To continue in the same vein of form against Sri Lanka Virat Kohli will be happy in the shortest format, especially he will increase his confidence later this year earlier of the T20I World Cup.

Following continuous T20I series wins against Bangladesh and West Indies, India is entering in the contest. The Kohli-led side will expect to produce a similar performance against Sri Lanka as the opposition is familiar.

Already India is picking a winning record against Sri Lanka in T20Is and will be glad to make a respecting status.

India has won 5 matches and 1 drawn and never lost against Sri Lanka in a bilateral T20I series. That bound is to set against alarm of opposition camp bells. On a five-match winning streak against Sri Lanka, we are also with the last T20I win in 2016 of Pune which is coming back from the visitors’ side.
