Vaughan Says Jack Leach Has The Best Pull Shot
Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan is known for his flippant posts on his Twitter. He is one of the cricketers who stays very active on social media.
Again the 45 years old has shown his trolling skills on Twitter. On Sunday the ICC has asked the Twitter users to name their favourite player with the best pull shot.
It posted a collage of four batsmen which consists of the pictures of batting great Sir Viv Richards, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, South African Herschelle Gibbs and Indian captain Virat Kohli, purportedly to pick from the four.
However, Vaughan came up with a bizarre choice. He named his fellow countryman Jack Leach. Nobody would have expected his name as the player with the best pull shot.
Leach is not even a recognized batsman. He is a spinner who comes down the batting order. However, Leach’s batting credentials can’t be entirely dismissed as he played a major role in one of England’s most memorable win in Ashes series last year.
His 76 partnership with Ben Stokes who hit 135 not outdrove his team to a famous victory against their arch-rivals Australia, when they chased an improbable 362 runs with one wicket in hand in the 3rd Test at Headingley.
Leach made 1 run off 17 balls and held his ground well in the match and was key for his team to get over the finishing line and tying the series result until at that point of time 1-1. In the end, the series was drawn 2-2.
Though it is not clear why Vaughan picked Leach as the unusual answer for the question, it is not entirely surprising to see the cricketer give funny responses.
Kevin Petersen Names Andrew Hudson’s Name
However other cricketers also have also responded to the ICC’S tweet with their picks. England destructive batsman Kevin Petersen said former South African opener Andrew Hudson name while Harbhajan Singh named Rohit Sharma and Ricky Ponting.
