In the U19 World Cup against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom, Dhruv Jurel, Indian U19 team wicket keeper achieved a sensational stumping dismissal. On the 17th over the moment had taken place, when spin bowler Ravi Bishnoi bowled Shahadat in the first ball of his over.
Hossain decided to defend the ball and stepped out of the crease. But he was unable to defend the ball. The ball coiled back to Jurel (wicket-keeper) behind the stumps after it bounced off the batsman’s pads. Jurel saw a probability to take the wicket. He caught the ball off the ground with lightning speed and took the bails off. Hossain did not notice that his feet were out of the crease.
Twitter users have compared Jurel with Dhoni, former Indian captain, who has been known for very fast stumping work throughout his career.
Simultaneously, the Indian batsmen’s performance was very outrageous. They were under high pressure as Bangladesh gave a heavy competition to the Indian players. They bowled all the Indian champions for a mear 177 in 47.2 overs in the final ICC U-19 World cup. Yet, Yasashvi Jaiswal has scored 88 runs in 121 balls.
Still, we can say that Jaiswal gave an outstanding performance. Even with so much effort form Jaiswal’s side, he wasn’t able to dominate the Bangladesh bowling unit especially Tanzim Hasan and Shoriful Islam who gave a tough bet for the Indian players. Apart from them, it was Avishek Das who was the third seamer who was most fruitful in terms of numbers.
Avishek Das, the third seam bowler was the most successful. He took three wickets and gave 40 runs in 9 overs with a 4.44 economy rate.
Taking a leaf out of @msdhoni handbook .. great glove work by Dhruv Jurel!!! 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 https://t.co/CYqFZd71hQ
