In 1st Day Of Unofficial Test, Nz A Scored 276/6 Vs Ind A

In Lincoln, the unofficial Test is going on between India A and New Zealand A. Glenn Phillips’ fine half-century helped New Zealand A to score 276 for five on an opening day.

After the hosts won the toss and opted to bat first, Phillips played a fine knock of Nine boundaries and one six in his 80 of 65 balls, while Dane Cleaver was not out in 115 balls and made 46 runs. And with useful contribution from the captain – Hamish Rutherford who scored 40 in 79 balls. 

From India, Mohammed Siraj and Avesh Khan shared 2 wickets each and Shahbaz Nadeem took 1 wicket. 

New Zealand A Made A Good Start

A good start was made by New Zealand-A as Rutherford and Will Young had a partnership of 67-run and then Siraj played a spoiler to the Kiwis batting flow and removed the skipper.

Rachin Ravindra scored 12 runs off 9 balls and smashed three boundaries and became the second victim of Siraj in 28th over.  

Then Young and Phillips both took the team towards 100 runs before Nadeem delivery.  Phillips and Tim Seifert (30) added 76 runs when the Kiwis to lift on 181.

Quick two wickets loss to New Zealand A with Avesh Khan striking twice in quick succession, during 57th over Philips and Seifert leave the host at 190 for 5.

New batsmen Mitchell, who was not out on 36 and Cleaver came together to restore the innings of New Zealand, adding a partnership of unfinished 86 runs.

While Cleaver had five hits, Mitchell had struck 4 fours as well as a six and made an unbeaten knock of 97 runs.  

And the unofficial opening Test between the two sides has resulted in a draw.
