Indian bowlers with the best T20I bowling strike rates: Picking up wickets is the best form of restricting runs. No matter what format of the game picking up a wicket remains paramount. A timely wicket pushes the batting side further. India’s success in the 2007 T20 World Cup was attributed to its star batsmen. But it was the bowlers who stood up for them every time.
The young Indian bowling lineup got the better of a top side like South Africa in the must-win game. Not a lot has changed since then despite the format evolving so much.

We look at the Top 5 Indian bowlers with the best T20I bowling strike rates :
[qualification criteria – 40 wickets]
#5 Hardik Pandya – 19.4
The biggest strength of Hardik Pandya is that he knows his limitations. He is one bowler who doesn’t try experimenting too much in T20I cricket. Pandya is someone who can move the ball in helpful conditions. He can bowl in the middle overs hitting back of a length on a consistent basis. Pandya has taken the new ball on many occasions. He has dented the opposition early in the powerplay. Pandya has picked up 69 T20I wickets at an impressive strike rate of 19.4
#4 Jasprit Bumrah – 18.3
He is arguably the finest T20I seamer in the world. Injuries have hampered Jasprit Bumrah more often than not in the last couple of years. He continues to remain a force every time he makes a comeback.
Bumrah started bowling primarily in the second half of the T20I innings, especially in the end overs. But he has slowly become a lethal weapon even with the new ball. He is someone who is the captain’s go-to bowler across all phases of the game. Bumrah’s strike rate of 18.3 is top-notch.
#3 Yuzvendra Chahal – 18.1
He is regarded as one of the wily spinners in the game. Yuzvendra Chahal though has seen a dip in form in the last couple of years in international cricket. He had a breakthrough season in 2017 when he picked his career-best figures of 6-25 against England in a venue like Bengaluru. Chahal was India’s first-choice spinner in T20I cricket since. He strangely is yet to play a T20 World Cup game for the country. Chahal’s strike rate of 18.1 fetches him a spot at number 3 on this list.
#2 Kuldeep Yadav – 12.8
He is arguably India’s finest spinner in this format. Kuldeep Yadav though hasn’t got a fair run in this format. He was India’s standout player in the T20I series against England in 2018. Yadav picked up a fiver dismantling English top and middle order.
There are not many batsmen who are able to read Kuldeep off his hand. His natural variation and the wrong one often catch the batters in two minds. Yadav after having played 28 games strikes every 12.8 balls. He is a very close second on this list.
#1 Arshdeep Singh – 12.7
He has quickly climbed up the charts within a year of making his International debut. Arshdeep Singh made his T20I debut in England in July 2022. He soon became India’s go-to bowler in the format across conditions. Arshdeep took up the mantle of being the leader of the attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.
Singh who had proven his mettle as a fine end-overs bowler in the IPL stepped up with the new ball too in Indian colours. He was one of the bowlers of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Singh strikes every 12.7 balls in his brief career so far edging past Kuldeep to the top spot.
