Former England skipper Michael Vaughan slammed the Sri Lankan Test team for their abysmal performance against England in their first Test. The Sri Lankan batsmen fell on their face while facing the visiting bowlers as they got all-out for just 135 runs in the first innings after opting to bat first at the Galle International stadium. The hosts only stood their ground for 46.1 overs as the Englishmen swiped the floors with them on Day 1.

Michael Vaughan showed zero sympathies while criticizing the Sri Lankan batsmen for their hideous style of play. Vaughan, on his Twitter account, penned down a post while disparaging the Sri Lankans. The 46-year-old stated that the Sri Lankans displayed ‘the worst possible advertisement for Test cricket’ in the first innings.
“Those 46.1 overs have been the worst possible advertisement for Test Cricket … it’s supposed to be the pinnacle … that was utter garbage Sri Lanka … #SLvENG … anyway time for a brew,” Vaughan tweeted.
