Not only that, the “God of Cricket” Sachin Tendulkar, himself, feels that Mayank Agarwal will surely open for India in Test matches.

Sachin Tendulkar Tips Mayank Agarwal Will Start in Test
Sachin Tendulkar, in a recent interview with PTI, said “Mayank, I know, is a confirmed starter because he has scored big runs and if Rohit is fit and available, then he should be there. Between other guys (Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul), that will be the management’s decision as they would be knowing who’s the form man.”

Credits to his recent exploits in IPL for KXIP, Mayank Agarwal cemented his spot in the Indian squad. The right-handed batsman chalked-up a total of 424 runs in 11 games with a sound strike rate of 156.45 in Dream11 IPL 2020. However, Agarwal will be up against his KXIP skipper KL Rahul and KKR’s Shubman Gill while competing for the opening spot in the limited-overs format. India’s quest to retain the “Border Gavaskar” trophy will start from December 17, 2020.
