Sunil Gavaskar Unveils ‘Most Difficult Test’ Of His Career

Gavaskar Revealed The Toughest Bowling He Had To Face:

The former renowned skipper of team India and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar put his tremendous mark in the cricket history. By just wearing a hat, he faced many challenges whether that is the furious bowling attack of West Indies bowler or reverse swing of bowlers of Pakistan.

In a conversation with former captain of Pakistan Ramiz Raja, Gavaskar said about the most difficult bowling attack he had faced during his career.

At the time of this conversation, Gavaskar said “ In the year 1982-83, India was on a tour to Pakistan. And in this tour, the way Imran Khan bowled to the Indian batsmen and took 40 wickets in the whole series was really tough. Every single ball of Sarfaraz Nawaz and Imran Khan were testing time for all of us. During those days no one heard about the reverse swing. The new ball was not a big deal, rather the way the ball swung after lunch was tough to face.”

Also, he added facing Richard Hadlee in New Zealand where he swung the ball at pace.      “ Facing pace as well as the swing of Richard Hadlee was very difficult. The most difficult test I was facing in my career was in the three tests in New Zealand in the year 1981.”

On India vs Pakistan matches:

The discussion has occurred when Shoaib Akhtar, the cricketing legend of Pakistan gave a suggestion for a tri-series tournament between India and Pakistan to raise funds for the deadly coronavirus pandemic for both the countries.

Gavaskar also said “ In this case, there are more probabilities of having snowfall in Lahore than the bilateral tri-series between India and Pakistan. Both the national teams will keep on meeting in ICC tournaments and World Cups, but a series between these two nations unlikely right now.”
