South Africa Recalling Reeza Hendricks
After the injuries of Temba Bavuma and Heinrich Klaasen, South Africa have called back Reeza Hendricks to play in the T20I series against Australia. Cricket South Africa confirmed the news on Sunday.
Reeza Hendrick is a right-handed batsman of the South Africa team having a moderate first-class average, and he is better known for his short format skills.
Injury Of Temba And Klaasen
Temba Bavuma played tremendously against England and he had been selected in South Africa squad for the Australia series, but it affected his fitness. He got an injury while playing against England in the final T20I game of the previous series and when he was diagnosed, the reports showed a strain in his right hamstring.
Meanwhile, during the practice session of the Proteas team ahead of the first T20I against Australia, Klaasen suffered an injury in his right hip. The CSA stated that the treatment of both Klaasen and Bavuma will continue and they will be reconsidered before the start of the second match.
Reeza Hendricks Past Records
Reeza made his debut in cricket in the year 2014 and he has played 21 ODIs and 22 T20Is for South Africa. He has scored 507 runs in ODIs and 593 in T20Is in both the formats, adding 1 century and 6 fifties to his name.
He made his debut in the ODI games for South Africa in the year 2018 and played against Sri Lanka in the match. He became the third batsman for South Africa who scores a hundred on the ODI debut. His average in T20Is is 26.95 and 26.68 in ODIs with a strike rate of 121.76 in the 20-over format.
Hendricks has already joined in the South Africa squad on Saturday evening for training before the second game against Australia on February 23 in Port Elizabeth.
