Season campainger Shikhar Dhawan handed the “Men in Blue” fans a little sneak peak of India’s new jersey for the upcoming Australian tour. The brand-new jersey will offer hard-core Indian fans a major throwback from the 1992 World Cup. As reported, the latest jersey is inspired from India’s attire in the 1992 World Cup which was held in Australia and New Zealand. Pakistan ended up winning their first World Cup in the same year, a team which was led by ace cricketer Imran Khan.

34-year-old Shikhar Dhawan can be seen donning the retro-themed jersey in a post the southpaw uploaded on his Twitter account. Shikhar Dhawan captioned the post: “New jersey, renewed motivation. Ready to go,”. While the new jersey was lauded by some netizens, others found it too monetorized.
The jersey is filled with numerous sponsors which makes the new Indian attire look more like an advertising board. The navy blue jersey is customised with sponsors like BYJU’s and MPL. Some Indian fans were particularly unhappy with the new jersey as they expressed their dismays in Shikhar Dhawan’s post.
