The coronavirus epidemic has plagued all the countries of the world. The deadly virus has recorded more than 50,000 deaths worldwide and halted human existence. India is also spreading the disease with over 2000 positive and over 50 deaths due to coronavirus defeat.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is currently seeing the harmful effects of COVID-19, as more than 2000 people have registered positive. Several prominent figures, including Shahid Afridi, have come forward to assist in the war against the pandemic.
Shahid Afridi’s Foundation is actively involved in helping the poor and needy with rations. Many other Pakistani cricketers, including the PCB, supported Afridi’s noble cause. The PCB and other Pakistani cricketers are also sharing videos on social media and urging people to stay indoors.
Sarfaraz Ahmed also joined the bandwagon and decided to auction off the bat he used in the 2017 Champions Trophy. The former Pakistan captain has agreed to auction his willow to donate the money raised to financially struggling athletes and ground staff since the virus spread.
Many cricketers have come forward to help in these trying times
“Sarfaraz Ahmed auctioned off the bat he used during the 2017 Champions Trophy. Money raised to help financially struggling athletes and ground staff since the spread of the covid-19 pandemic,” Pakistani editor Saj Sadiq tweeted.

Many cricketers have come forward to help in the war against the pandemic. In addition to money, players are also finding new ways to raise funds. Jose Butler also followed a similar path as he decided to auction off his 2019 World Cup final jersey. The 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman was instrumental in England’s thrilling defeat of New Zealand at Lord’s.
“I’m going to auction off my World Cup final shirt to raise funds for the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity. Last week they launched an urgent appeal to provide life-saving equipment to assist victims during the COVID-19 outbreak. Link to auction in my bio,” Butler wrote on his Twitter account.
