Rohit Sharma is having a good cricketing career as he is in fine form in international cricket, which took led him into the world of endorsements.
India’s new Test opener and captain of Mumbai Indians has signed up for 10 new brands so far this fiscal at about 55% higher rates than earlier, sports marketing experts said. According to the sources in Rohit’s management team, one of India’s finest batsmen in contemporary times endorses more than 20 brands at the moment.
Rohit’s Endorsements and Corporate Brands:
Sharma’s brand value shot up after this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup in England where he scored five centuries to emerge the highest run-scorer of the tournament, and now he trails only Indian captain Virat Kohli and former skipper MS Dhoni among cricket celebrities.
“The brand Rohit Sharma has seamlessly evolved over the last few years and has created a niche market for itself,” said Nikhil Bardia, head of sponsorship sales at IMG-Reliance that has been managing Sharma’s commercial deals for four years now. “His on-field performance has rapidly advanced and complemented our off-field strategy, offering a very exciting option for brands.”
Rohit presently charges Rs 1 crore per day for each brand which can be anything from TVC (television commercial shoot), promotional event, print or digital commitments.
“The World Cup where he became the first batsman to hit five hundred upped his brand value considerably. And now, the stupendous performances as a Test opener is like an icing on the cake,” a member of the corporate brand, who is working with Rohit said.
“It’s not only about cricket but his image that he is one among us makes him a relatable brand with youth as well as the family audience,” he added.
