Rishabh Pant Donates His Match Fees Towards Rescue Operation In Uttarakhand

Indian southpaw Rishabh Pant is winning hearts on and off the pitch. The 23-year-old Indian wicketkeeper Pant donates his match fees towards the on-going rescue operation in Uttarakhand. Recently, a glacier broke off at Joshimath in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Sunday. This led to an outburst of a heavy flood in the Dhauli Ganga river which caused massive destruction in parts of the Himalayas.

Rishabh Pant’s generous act

Rishabh Pant, who was born in Roorkee, a town in Haridwar district, have come forward towards helping the people of Uttarakhand. Pant took his Twitter account to pay his condolences towards the lost lives in the glacier burst. He stated “Deeply pained by the loss of life in Uttarakhand. Would like to donate my match fee for the rescue efforts and would urge more people to help out,” Pant wrote on his Twitter handle.

On Sunday, the 23-year-old wicketkeeper penned down another Tweet while expressing his grief. “My sincere condolences and prayers for the families of those affected by the Uttarakhand flash floods. I hope that the rescue operations underway can help those in trouble,” he had written.

Earlier on Sunday, Rishabh Pant carried his side with decisive innings of 91 runs on Day 3 of the first Test against England. Pant scored a total of 9 fours and 5 sixes while reaching the total against a strong batting line-up in a tough surface. Rishabh Pant fell 9 runs short of his 100, however, the young lad played his part with grace.

At the time of writing this article, England have a lead of 299 runs in the second innings. Root (21) and Ben Stokes (0) are currently batting for England. The visitors are 58-3 in the second innings.
