She has over 100 million followers on Twitter. Hence, Rihanna’s tweet about the farmers’ protest in the national capital soon became the talk of the town on the microblogging site.

It sort of came as a surprise that a pop-cultural icon like Rihanna was so concerned about the happenings in India. While it is true that the farmer’s protests across the nation have captured the imagination of the whole world. But still for an icon like Rihanna to come out in solidarity for Indian farmers is a huge thing. If we look at Rihanna’s tweet about the farmers’ protest, the pop icon’s post has garnered over 100k likes and 55k retweets on Twitter.

Responding to Rihanna’s tweet, former England spinner Monty Panesar asked Rihanna to join the Englishman for an interview in a bid to discuss the farmers’ issues in India. “It would be an honour to interview you @panjabradio_ @AsianFXRadio on my show ‘The Full Monty’ this Saturday to talk about farmers issues in India #farmersrprotest #IndianFarmersRevolution2020,” Panesar said in his tweet.

It will be pretty interesting to see how the conversation between Rihanna and Panesar pan out in this regard. If and when the interview happens, it will set off a new trend where foreign celebs will predominantly be discussing matters related to India.
