IPL 2022: Ravichandran Ashwin surprises Rajat Patidar with Carrom ball becomes 5th spinner to complete 150 IPL wickets

RCB vs RR: Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin became only the eighth player in IPL history to take 150 wickets when he clean bowled Rajat Patidar of Royal Challengers Bangalore at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Tuesday. Here in this article, we talk about RCB vs RR: Ravichandran Ashwin becomes the 5th spinner to complete 150 IPL wickets.

In recent games, Ravichandran Ashwin has been in better form, taking more wickets than he did at the start of the season. He’s been bowling a lot more carrom balls lately, and it’s paying off big time. Earlier in the season, he bowled Andre Russell out with a brilliant ball. After Harbhajan Singh, R Ashwin became the second off-spinner to collect 150 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

RCB vs RR: Ravichandran Ashwin Becomes 5th Spinner To Complete 150 IPL Wickets

Ashwin grabbed three wickets on Tuesday in the 39th match of the IPL 2022. Ashwin needed one more wicket to surpass the 150-wicket mark before the contest began. After dismissing RCB’s Rajat Patidar, he completed the feat. Suyash Prabhudesai and Shahbaz Ahmed were then returned to the pavilion by him. In the IPL thus far, the RR off-spinner has 152 wickets.

In the IPL auction 2022, the Rajasthan Royals purchased Ashwin for Rs five crore. He became a valuable member of the RR team. With leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, Ashwin has developed a devastating spin duo.

In today’s match, RR won by 29 runs over RCB. RR scored only 144 runs in 20 overs when batting first. After scoring only nine runs, in-form opener Jos Buttler returned to the pavilion. Devdutt Paddikal was removed for seven runs after failing to reach double figures.

Riyan Parag, an RR all-rounder, hit 56 runs off 31 balls. Sanju Samson, the RR captain, and Ashwin both had useful innings of 27 and 17 runs, respectively. Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, and Wanindu Hasaranga each took two wickets for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RCB got off to a rough start while chasing a modest total of 145 runs. Virat Kohli, who was promoted to opener, failed to score a major goal yet again. For nine runs, he was ejected. Faf du Plessis, the skipper, and Rajat Patidar put up a 27-run partnership. RCB, on the other hand, continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. When the total was only 92 runs, they lost seven wickets.

RCB were bowled out for 115 runs with three balls to spare. Kuldeep Sen grabbed four wickets for RR, while Ashwin took three. Prasidh Krishna grabbed two wickets as well. For his 31-ball 56-run innings, Parag was named Player of the Match.
