Rashid Khan Sets BBL Alight With A Stunning Running Catch

Talented Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is not only highly talented with his bowling skills but also in other aspects of the game. Besides being the number one T20 international bowler in the world, the Afghan is an excellent fielder and also a handy batsman down the order.

Rashid Khan once again caught attention during the match between Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat at the Big Bash League at the Adelaide Oval. Rashid bowled four overs, giving away just 15 runs with a single wicket at a run rate of 3.75.

But he made a far more important contribution to the match. The leg-spinner took a sensational running catch to send the dangerous Chris Lynn packing for 26.

Remarkable catch by Rashid

Chris Lynn went for a big hit towards mid-wicket but ended up getting a leading edge and lifting the ball. Rashid Khan, who was inside the circle on the off-side, ran a full slope with his eyes fixed on the ball and dived full-length, getting both hands to the ball to complete a remarkable catch.

Rashid Khan’s position in the highest wicket-taker list

Cricket Australia’s official tweeted the video of Rashid Khan’s catch. And it was later reposted by Sunrisers Hyderabad with a caption, “Rashid Khan can do anything! We repeat, Rashid Khan can do anything!!”

Rashid Khan has been going great guns in the Big Bash League. He is currently in the third position of the highest wicket-takers list this season with 15 scalps in nine matches. Daniel Sams tops the list with 17 wickets, followed by Haris Rauf with 16 in second place.

Helping the team win

Rashid Khan’s hard work in the field and his bowling helped bowl out Brisbane Heat for a 100 in 17 overs. Liam O’Connor was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 30 runs off his four overs.

Michael Neser and Wes Agar chipped in with two wickets, respectively, as Brisbane Heat put on an indifferent batting display. Chris Lynn and Matt Renshaw were the only two Brisbane players to get into double figures.
