Rahul Dravid Tested Positive for Coronavirus, Unlikely to be part of Asia Cup

Rahul Dravid News: Big blow for the BCCI and Indian fans as the Head Coach Rahul Dravid has tested positive for coronavirus. The Asia Cup is around the corner and India will be facing their arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup Opener on 28th September.

Recently VVS Laxman was announced as the head coach for the Zimbabwe tour and now with the absence of Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman will likely take over as the head coach of the Indian team. After testing positive for coronavirus the coach (Rahul Dravid) had to take some time off and recover in an isolation.

Already with the big guns like (Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel) missing from the squad due to injuries, and now the reports suggest that Rahul Dravid is also unlikely to be part of the Asia Cup.

India will start their practice sessions three days before the tournament starts. The main players like Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma and a few others have already arrived in UAE, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, and Deepak Hooda will reach Dubai little as they finished playing an ODI series against Zimbabwe yesterday.

Head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour and the bowling coach Paras Mhambrey were given some time off from the Zimbabwe tour, where VVS Laxman took the responsibility of being the head coach for the tour which ended yesterday night.

Dravid’s approach will be absent and the ability to control players, all these things will be missing when India faces Pakistan in the season opener of the Asia Cup, but reports suggest that BCCI will find a replacement for Rahul mostly or they might even risk in waiting for Rahul to test negative.

BCCI might soon reveal their decision and we will have to wait and watch who will be the Head coach for India in the Upcoming Asia Cup 2022 Australia.
