Ponting Breaks Down In Tears While Paying Heartfelt Tribute To Warne

Former Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting burst into tears as he paid tribute to former fellow teammate and buddy Shane Warne, who died of a cardiac attack on March 4th. Ponting was clearly devastated, and it was tough for him to keep his emotions in check after being a close friend of the legendary player for nearly 20 years. Here is about Ponting’s Heartfelt tribute to Warne.

When faced with the sad news of the cricketer’s early death, Ponting revealed that he was in shock. He went on to say that this could take time for him to accept what had happened because it did not feel true to him despite the fast aspect of the death. The 47-year-old also mentioned taking his time to digest all of the emotions, recalling his time with the legendary leg spinner.

I’ve had a few hours now to digest it all: Ponting

“I was shocked I think like probably the rest of the world. I mean I’ve got the messages when I woke up this morning. I went to bed last night knowing that I had to take my daughters for netball and then was confronted with what didn’t seem quite real at that time and even now probably doesn’t really seem like it’s real either so I’ve had a few hours now to digest it all and think about how a part of my life he was and reflect on a lot of those memories through the years,” said Ponting.

Ponting kept the highest accolades for Warne, describing him as “one of the all-time greats.” He referred to the leg spinner as one of the most fierce bowlers in the sport, claiming that he had revolutionized the technique of spin bowling. Furthermore, Ponting had led the bowler for the duration of his international pro career, with the pair achieving numerous awards and accolades to Australia across their careers.

Furthermore, the Thailand police revealed that they have found a large amount of blood in Shane Warne’s room. The Thai police chief also stated, before Warne’s demise he would experience severe cough and was bleeding. “A large amount of blood was found in the room. When CPR was started, the deceased had coughed up liquid and was bleeding,” said Satit Polpinit.

Whenever the news of the Melbourne-born cricketer’s death initially surfaced, it shook the cricketing world. Several active and retired cricketers have voiced their shock and sadness in the wake. Many condolences have been paid to Australia’s legend from many cricketing communities all across the world.
