Ponting, whose been coaching DC for quite some period, is seen holding serious talks with members of the team during the match, and his zeal for the Capitals is obviously on display for spectators to witness.

In the same match, MI, after being placed to bat first, could only produce 129 runs due to poor striking. Suryakumar Yadav’s 33 runs were the highest from their side. Avesh Khan and Axar Patel bowled superbly to scoop up 3 wickets respectively.

Patel was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ after taking 3 wickets and scoring 9 runs from his end. Although Delhi were chasing, they dropped wickets rapidly, with only Shreyas Iyer 33 (33) assuming control of the side. Pant contributed 26 runs to his team’s total.
“I think I’m varying my pace well, and also able to read the batter’s mind, think I’m one step ahead of them and that’s helping me. In that sense, it’s going well for me at the moment. I thought he’ll try to attack me (on his dismissal of Quinton de Kock), I felt he will try to go over cover and that’s why I went wide off-stump, he ended up slicing it to backward point,” said Patel after being declared MoM.
