The Indian PM Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina may witness the second Test in Kolkata between India and Bangladesh which is scheduled to be played from November 22 to 26.
According to IANS, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has sent invites to both the Prime Ministers to witness the historic occasion when Bangladesh plays their first-ever Test at the Eden Gardens. They are awaiting confirmation from both parties.
Earlier, the CAB invited the Indian movie legend Amitabh Bachchan to participate in the India-Pakistan encounter in the 2016 World T20. While Bachchan also sang the Indian national anthem, former Pakistan cricketer and its current PM Prime Minister Imran Khan witnessed the match in the stadium.
With Kolkatan citizen Sourav Ganguly taking over as president of BCCI, it is expected that cricket buffs of the City of Joy would be in for more surprises.
During the Test, the Jagmohan Dalmiya Memorial Lecture is scheduled to be held and Ganguly will, in all likelihood, be the speaker at the occasion. Moreover, a state-of-the-art indoor training facility would also be inaugurated at the Eden Gardens at the same time.
