For Pat Cummins, 2020 was expected to be a big year. The fast bowler who had developed himself as the world’s leading player and also the world’s No.1 Test bowler had an opportunity to prove that he was a capable bowler.
He had a big deal with IPL, and Cummins was rearing to go for a fantastic year with ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at home backyard. But, the COVID-19 epidemic has put a stop to his plans. He has lately spoken up on the prospect of IPL and the 2020 Men’s T20 World Cup.
Pat Cummins said the positive news is that right now, BCCI hasn’t canceled the IPL 2020, and it is still on track. The 26-year-old pacer also said the players are in touch with the franchises, and the goal at the moment is to avoid coronavirus spreading.
Cummins was picked up at this year’s auctions by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping amount of INR 15.5 Crore. With this, he was the most valuable player in IPL history at the auction.

“They weren’t canceling it (IPL) or something like that yet. It’s always a bit of a trend on carrying, “said Pat Cummins.
“Every few days, we are in touch with our colleagues. Everybody is always very focused on it for everyone to move forward, but you know the aim is to reduce the chance of transmitting (coronavirus)”.
Cummins also said this period serves as a break for him and is a positive thing. “I do not foresee everything to happen very fast. I think the goal will be to be playing over there, but … I suppose the bright lining is that we’re having a little break, “the Australian pacer said.
Speaking of the T20 World Cup, Cummins said it’s still six or seven months away, and things could shift before that time. Cummins said India’s Australia tour is still eight or nine away from now. “World Cup is only six-seven months out, and there are already eight-nine months out from major India run. It can affect a lot of stuff, “Cummins added.
