Pant Should Be Careful About His Shot Selection: Dasgupta

Since about the Gabba Test versus Australia previously this year, Rishabh Pant also seems to have found his striking. The forthcoming five-match Test series versus England, though, has shown flaws in his batting defense. Despite playing brave cricket in Australia, backed by tests against the English, the lefty has struggled with the batting in the latest series. Here is Dasgupta Advice To RIshabh Pant about his shot Selection.

Dasgupta Advice To RIshabh Pant

Pant alone has managed 87 runs at an average of 17.40 in 3 Tests so far, with the best score of 37. Despite his recent record, experienced cricketer Dinesh Karthik believes Pant should be allowed opportunities to compose himself rather than tinkering with his approach.

“Pant has got most of his runs that way, he got tons of it in Australia and you will have to give him the time and allow him to flourish. I don’t think he needs to change anything drastically in the middle of the series,” Karthik said.

Pant gets going in one inning, he will probably win you the Test match: Karthik

Deep Dasgupta, stated that Pant really shouldn’t lose his purity of thinking in order to be released from prison. According to the experienced, the left-hander is a real match-winner, but he has to be more calculated in his stroke decisions.

“It is important that Pant’s thought process is not jumbled up. If Pant gets going in one inning, he will probably win you the Test match…So you can take that little bit of chance with him. But saying that, Rishabh can still try to be a little careful about his shot selection,” Dasgupta said.

In the bowling discipline, the Three Lions’ main attackers have indeed been Ollie Robinson as well as James Anderson. The bowlers have taken 29 wickets in total, with three five-wicket hauls to their credit.

Pant, according to Dasgupta, has to understand how to handle deliveries outside the off-stump. “The likes of Anderson and Robinson know how to use these conditions brilliantly and get left-handers in that channel outside the off-stump bowling over the wicket. “But if Pant can deal with it initially, he can always do his own jazz — coming down the track or whatever,” he added.

On 02 September, the 4th and last Test will take place at the Kennington Oval in London.
