Pakistan Bowling Coach Shaun Tait To Join Squad For 2nd Test

Former Australian player Shaun Tait will be going to join as the bowling coach for the Pakistan men’s squad. Tait will join the squad before the 2nd Test versus Australia and will be designated to the post for one year. Here in this article, we have discussed Pakistan Bowling Coach for the Australia tour of Pakistan.

According to the latest update from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the former pace bowler shall arrive in Karachi on March 9 and will be serving a 3 day isolation period before rejoining the squad. The 2nd Test will take held at Karachi’s National Stadium. Interestingly, the 39-year-old was set to join the squad earlier but then had his preparations pushed back owing to the unexpected death of his father on 22nd February.

Shaun Tait formerly had numerous coaching positions

Tait was named bowling coach after Pakistan’s lineup for the series versus Australia was announced. Whereas Pakistan’s veteran spin bowler Saqlain Mushtaq has been hired as the team’s head coach for one-year tenure, another national legend, Mohammad Yousuf, has been chosen as the team’s batting coach for the Australian series.

Tait’s first duty with the Pakistan squad will be in the upcoming three-match Test series versus Australia, which will be backed by three One-Day Internationals and one Twenty-20 International. Throughout his playing career, the bowler was recognized for his raw pace and has formerly had numerous coaching positions.

He was named bowling coach of Afghanistan’s national squad for a 5-month span last year, however, departed well before completion of his contract. Tait was also allegedly hired as the bowling coach by Indian state team Puducherry for their domestic season in September last year.

During his playing career, the Adelaide-born bowler was among the world’s fastest bowlers. He featured in  35 ODIs, 21 T20Is, and 3 Tests for Australia, bagging 62, 28, and 5 accordingly.
