“None of my business”, States Justin Langer When Asked About Ravi Shastri’s Current Situation

Australian head coach Justin Langer refuses to imagine himself in Indian coach Ravi Shastri’s shoes. Justin Langer’s Australia inflicted an embarrassing loss over the “Men in Blue” in the first pink-ball Test match at the Adelaide stadium. Virat Kohli’s men got out for 36 runs in the second innings, marking India’s lowest score in Test cricket. It was a matter of shame and a match to forget for the Ravi Shastri-brigade. However, Justin Langer has no business thinking about India’s dire situation

IND vs AUS: Justin Langer is glad he is not in Ravi Shastri’s place

Justin Langer, when asked what would he have done had he been in place of Shastri, said he is glad that it’s the opposition who are in stress and not his team. “None of my business. I have had enough with stresses,” Langer said during a virtual media conference organized by series broadcasters Sony Network. “I empathize with the opposition and I know what it feels like. If India are feeling any stress, I am glad they are and not us over the Christmas weekend.”

IND vs AUS: Langer speaks about Indian squad missing crucial players

Things have gone bad to worse for the Indian side even before the commencement of the second Test. First, Indian skipper Virat Kohli left for his paternity leave, and then the BCCI confirmed that pacer Mohammed Shami will not be available for their outing at Melbourne as well. Justin Langer admitted that the absence of Kohli and Shami will play as a big advantage for the Australians.

“Of course, whatever sport you play, if you take out two of your stars, Virat Kohli is an all-time great player I think and Shami is a real glue for the team because he is so miserly and skillful. It surely gives us some advantage,” he said. “We need to start strongly on the first day and build pressure on Rahane as he is the new captain of India for this series. So the processes don’t change. Whenever you take out the best players of any cricket team, it weakens them and that’s the reality,” he said.
