During the IPL 2017, KKR player Nitish Rana first came to light when he smashed 333 runs in just 13 games while playing for the reigning Mumbai Indian IPL champions. Despite having a successful season, after being released by the Mumbai Indians, Nitish Rana was back in the auction pool. Kolkata Knight Riders went out to buy the left-handed batsman for a total of around 3.4 crores, and since then he has been the key component of the batting lineup of KKR.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Tuesday that due to coronavirus, India’s lockdown has been extended until May 3. The announcement came as a big setback for BCCI, which has remained quiet about the IPL 2020 future. Leading news agency tweeted that BCCI sources say the IPL has been postponed until at least May 3 due to India’s lockdown extension.
Earlier reports indicated that the IPL could be held in October-November instead of the T20 World Cup (if canceled), but a BCCI official recently commented that making the IPL happen in October would be much more difficult than it would seem.
