Dickwella Patbendige Dilantha Niroshan Dickwella, popularly known as Niroshan Dickwella was born in Kany, Sri Lanka on 23 June 1993. Niroshan Dickwella is a Sri-Lankan left-hand wicketkeeper batter who has been a part of Sri Lankan squad from more than 7 years and plays all formats for the national side. Niroshan Dickwella has been a consistent member of the squad and also gave a few heroic performances time to time to help his team in winning the matches. Niroshan Dickwella has also worked hard on his wicket keeping skills and now plays as a regular wicket keeper batter for the side in all three formats. Dickwella plays for the Nondescripts Cricket Club in the domestic circuit of Sri Lanka.

Niroshan Dickwella started off playing cricket at the age of 7 years. Since the early age, he was known for his aggressive batting approach in the school and then in the college. Niroshan Dickwella was also known for playing the unorthodox shots all over the ground including his favorite left-handed dilscoops. Dickwella also played many local club level matches to improve his skills and get the position in the domestic circuit. At the age of 18 years, Niroshan Dickwella won Schoolboy cricketer of the year award in 2012.

Niroshan Dickwella started off his domestic career back in 2012 when he was picked up by the Nondescripts Cricket Club to play in the team. Niroshan

Dickwella didn’t looked back and grabbed the opportunity with both hands and played many matches for the club.

Initially, Niroshan Dickwella played as a regular batter in the team. However, few years later he started playing as the wicketkeeper batter for the squad. Niroshan Dickwella became a consistent part of the squad and won many matches for the domestic team.

In 2018, Niroshan Dickwella was roped in by the Kandy for the Super four Provincial Tournament and was appointed as the vice-captain of the franchise. Niroshan Dickwella ended up as the leading run scorer for his team and smashed 315 runs in just 3 matches of the tournament.

Niroshan Dickwella was then included in the squad of Galle for the SLC League in 2018.

In 2021 Lanka Premier League, Niroshan Dickwella was roped in by the Dambulla giants. However, his season didn’t go down well and just scored 198 runs.

Niroshan Dickwella was roped in by the Colombo Stars for the next season in 2022 in Lanka Premier League.

Niroshan Dickwella made his International debut in a Test match against South Africa on 24 July 2014 and scored a half century on the debut.

Niroshan Dickwella made his first appearance in the ODI format in the same year in December when he was picked up for the series against India.

Niroshan Dickwella remained in and out of the team during the time due to some average performances. In 2016, Niroshan Dickwella made his T20I debut for Sri Lanka.

Niroshan Dickwella was also picked up in the squad for the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup but he was not included in the playing 11 due to average performances.

Niroshan Dickwella made a remarkable comeback in the series against South Africa back in 2017 and scored quick runs in T20I matches and also helped his team in giving good starts in the T20I matches. During the series, Niroshan Dickwella also smashed his maiden T20I half century and was awarded with Player of the series award.

In 2017, Niroshan Dickwella was banned for 2 matches due to a breach in code of conduct of ICC policies.

Niroshan Dickwella made a comeback in March, 2017 in a series against Zimbabwe and scored his maiden ODI century.

Niroshan Dickwella made a unique record back in 2021 of scoring most half centuries in test cricket without scoring any century.
