The old committee has already picked up the Test squad. The home ODI series against South Africa will be the main action item in the committee’s first meet. The meetings for short-listed player applicants will be declared soon.
The BCCI President likewise informed that while Madan Lal, the all-rounder, and Sulakshana Madhukar Naik, former Indian Women’s wicketkeeper, are the individuals from the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
Since Gautam Gambhir is a Member of the Parliament, he cannot hold any position and that’s why he is being replaced.
Hardik Pandya is unable to play presently:
Ganguly said that they had decided on Gautam’s substitution and the declaration would be made soon and Sulakshana Madhukar Naik and Madan Lal will also be there.
The all-rounder Hardik Pandya has still not been able to pass his match fitness tests after his back surgery, Ganguly added.
“He is not able to play at this time. It will require some time to recover and he gets fit. Pandya has been disappointed because he recently failed the fitness test in his offer to make a national return,” the BCCI chief said.
S Rajanikant, the coach of Pandya, had expressed his support that he would be able to complete the YoYo Test, but the Baroda all-rounder is not yet close to achieving match wellness.
