MS Dhoni Jersey
Former India captain MS Dhoni’s iconic No.7 jersey will no longer be available for grabs for any other Indian player, as the BCCI has decided to retire the number used by Dhoni throughout his international career, three years after the famed wicketkeeper-batter retired.
According to media reports, the Indian cricket board took this action as a way to honour Dhoni’s contributions to the game since he made his debut in 2004. The story went on to say that the Indian cricket team’s players, particularly the rookies, have been informed that they will no longer be able to wear the number 7 on their jersey.

“The young players and current Indian team players have been told not to pick M S Dhoni’s Number 7 jersey. The BCCI has decided to retire Dhoni’s T-shirt for his contribution to the game. A new player can’t get No. 7, and No. 10 was already off the list of available numbers,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying.
“Around 60 numbers are designated to the regular Indian players. Even if a player is off the team for a year, his number is not given to anyone else. The debutants have 30 numbers to choose from,” the BCCI official added.

With this accolade, Dhoni has become the second only Indian after the great Sachin Tendulkar, whose jersey has been retired as a tribute by the cricket board.
